MPR secure financial penalty for possession of 40 deals of Class A drugs

  • Posted

MPR’s Private Client Department was instructed to represent an individual charged with possession of a substantial amount of MDMA (Class A drugs). Unusually, the client had been charged with simple possession rather than possession with intent to supply and was due to be sentenced having entered a guilty plea to the charge.

Very thorough mitigation was prepared on behalf of the client and our in-house advocate mitigated on behalf of the client and put forward very powerful submissions to the Court as to why the Defendant should not be sentenced to a term of imprisonment which was the starting point for this type of offence given the amount of drugs concerned.

The case was prepared and presented by Seema Parikh and Jocelynne Freeman of MPR solicitors llp Criminal Defence Specialists.
