MPR Solicitors instructed to defend in bribery and corruption prosecution by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO)

MPR Solicitors are instructed to defend in a bribery and corruption prosecution by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) in an alleged conspiracy involving our client to rig energy contracts worth £70million.

At MPR Solicitors we specialise in defending allegations involving complex and serious fraud and all aspects of financial crime. We have a dedicated fraud defence team who will work with our clients to advance a positive and proactive defence. We have experienced serious fraud solicitors and barristers who are fully able to to work with our clients to help achieve the best possible outcome.

At MPR we are accustomed to dealing with investigations and prosecutions by the SFO. If you or your offices have been subject to a ‘dawn raid’ then it is imperative to seek immediate legal representation in order to protect your interests.  We can help put in place an implementation plan on what to do and put procedures in place in the unfortunate event of a dawn raid by the SFO, FCA or HMRC.  A dawn raid is often the first sign that a company is the under investigation and it is crucial that everybody in the company from the receptionist to senior management know what to expect and what to do in such an event.

If you are being subject to a dawn raid we can mobilise a specialist team of lawyers to be on site with you and advise during the search procedure and liaise with the authorities.

If you have been asked to attend for an interview it is important that you contact us immediately in order that we can advise you and protect your interests.

The SFO can carry out three types of interviews:

  1. Interviews under section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1987 (CJA 1987) using compulsory powers;
  2. Interviews under the Police and Evidence Act 1984 (PACE 1984) conducted under caution;
  3. Voluntary Interviews.

If you have been asked to attend an interview we will seek disclosure on your behalf and help you plan and prepare for the interview which is a key stage of the investigation.

Our Serious Fraud solicitors are able to meet you to discuss your case anywhere within the UK or internationally.
