Private prosecutions on the rise

Last month MPR were instructed to instigate a private prosecution in connection with a corporate fraud. We are pleased to announce that the dossier has now been handed to the authorities with a view to taking over the prosecution.

Increasingly corporate and private individuals are seeking criminal proceedings against defendants to increase prospects of conviction as a more cost effective method of asset recovery under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
