Instructed in Operation Somerville - 19 defendant case at Oxford Crown Court

MPR’s Serious and Complex Crime Team have been instructed to defend a large-scale multi-defendant conspiracy to supply class A drugs cases, one of the largest undercover police operations targeting Serious Organised Crime in the Thames Valley area.

The case involves a year of covert surveillance and involvement of undercover police officers infiltrating the alleged gangs and the various alleged conspiracies. The trial is not expected to take place until the end of 2017.

MPR Specialist Criminal Defence lawyers were selected for their experience in defending complex crime and large-scale drugs conspiracy cases. The Managing Partner Seema Parikh has written articles on the subject of “How to Defend Conspiracy Cases” and is an expert in this field. She has defended in some of the largest conspiracy cases in recent years including Operation Eaglewood at Woolwich Crown Court and Operation Montecarl involving one of the largest cocaine hauls in Europe valued at £1 billion in street value prices smuggled on board a former Canadian coastguard ship.
