MPR Solicitors secure outstanding result in Computer Hacking case

MPR solicitors were instructed to advise and represent a high-profile IT professional in a computer hacking case in London. The client was accused of hacking into personal accounts and stealing funds. The case involved complex cyber-crime issues and forensics.

The matter was investigated by the Met’s specialist cyber-crime team of highly trained officers who seized all our client’s personal and work devices for forensic analysis which would have taken months and would have caused huge financial losses to both our client and to our client’s corporates.

MPR solicitors immediately put together a pro-active defence strategy for the client and worked round the clock to gather all the relevant information and evidence in support of our client’s case.  We then made representations to the police and successfully challenged their evidence at the investigative stage which ended up in the police deciding not to charge our client and to return the computer devices back immediately. The case was headed by Jyothi Somavarapu who is a Senior Solicitor at the Firm.

By working at a fast-moving pace round the clock, we were able to minimise any financial losses to our client and succeeded in avoiding any court action. It is usually beneficial to seek expert legal advice at the pre-charge investigative stage to try and avoid charge or to minimise commercial risk and losses. At MPR Solicitors, we specialise in giving pre-charge advice and representation.

We have a team of dedicated, experienced solicitors and barristers who have chosen to specialise in this area of law, defending clients against allegations of computer-related crimes. Our solicitors have a keen interest in technology and keep abreast of recent IT developments and forensic issues. At MPR Solicitors we are regularly instructed by individuals where computer evidence is central to the allegations, or where IT usage forms the basis of the allegation faced.

If you are currently on police bail and facing serious cyber-crime related offences, or if you have been charged with offences, then contact MPR Solicitors to see how we could make that difference to your case.
