MPR solicitors instructed in bizarre historic abuse case

  • Posted

We have been instructed to defend a man of good character in relation to historic abuse going  back to the 1970s in a bizarre set of circumstances.

The case is complex and throws some novel legal points and encompasses the old law on sexual offences and the new law. The trial will take place in 2017.

MPR solicitors was chosen for its expertise in defending historic sexual abuse cases and complex sexual offences cases. We were one of the first criminal defence firms to be instructed in cases arising out of the aftermath of Operation Yewtree and the Jimmy Saville enquiry.

We fully understand that cases such as these can be very distressing for clients and their families and we treat our clients with the utmost respect and dignity regardless of the nature of the allegations they face.
