Another successful Appeal against Conviction

Our client has his conviction quashed and a Not Guilty verdict entered following a successful appeal against conviction at the Maidstone Crown Court.

MPR Solicitors were instructed after our client who was a man of good character was convicted at his local magistrates court. He had been represented by his local solicitor who he met when they  represented him initially as a duty solicitor at the police station when he was first arrested. After he was convicted he was devastated as he faced losing his job. He felt his solicitors did not really understand his case and had little time for him. The advocate who turned up to represent him at trial seemed ill- prepared. This is unfortunately a common story we hear from many of our clients.

Once we were instructed we immediately lodged an appeal notice  and obtained all the case papers. We were able to  develop a case strategy going forward and prepare properly for the appeal which is effectively a re-trial. Ultimately the conviction was quashed, relationships remained intact and our client retains his good character and reputation.
