Solicitor Advocate
Harold is a specialist in criminal and civil litigation and conducts most of the Firm’s civil litigation matters. He also specialises in serious fraud and recently successfully prosecuted a complex civil fraud on behalf of a corporate client.
Harold was called to the Bar in 1978 and later admitted as a solicitor in 1988. In 1995 he became a Solicitor-Advocate and gained his Higher Rights of audience in both criminal and civil courts which enables him to conduct advocacy in the Highest Courts in England and Wales. Having achieved success at the Bar, Harold decided to turn his hand to running a firm of solicitors which he did for many years and was an Equity Partner at Mackenzie Persaud Solicitors in West London. He built up a loyal client following and over the years has been involved in some very high profile cases.
Harold has extensive experience in representing clients at all stages of proceedings facing complex and high profile cases in the areas of terrorism, large-scale conspiracies, murder, fraud and money laundering.
He regularly appears in the Crown Court and has defended clients facing charges of murder, attempted murder and violent disorder at the Central Criminal Court (The Old Bailey) as advocate.
Harold also specialises in civil litigation disputes and has a practical knowledge of representing a clients wider interests in these situations. He is able to draft his own pleadings and undertake most of the advocacy in the civil courts having been a successful Barrister at the Bar, thereby offering a complete service to the Firm’s clients.
Harold frequently advises clients and businesses in relation to confiscation and restraint issues including cash seizures, forfeiture, asset recovery and all matters relating to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Personal Background:
Harold also holds a judicial appointment as he sits as a Recorder in the Crown Court.
In his spare time he likes to travel and enjoys walking holidays with his wife.
